Due to a severe rock slide on or around February 29th a portion of the I-75 will be closed for roughly 2-3 weeks as they do road cleanup, maintenance and rock blasting according to the T-DOT website. A detoured route has been assigned to commercial motor vehicles. Southbound lanes are expected to re-open in about 14 days and 1 lane Northbound will re-open in approximately 21 days with all work tentatively scheduled to be completed by April 15th 2016.

Challenger is following the detour list below and doing everything we can to maintain levels of service during this time.

Detour

  • Wide-load traffic traveling I-75 Southcan take Exit 29 (Corbin) in Kentucky. Follow US 25E into Tennessee, and enter I-81 at Exit 8 (Morristown/White Pine).
  • Wide-load traffic traveling I-75 Northcan take I-40 East to I-81 North Exit 8 (Morristown/White Pine). Follow US 25E, and enter I-75 at Exit 29 (Corbin) in Kentucky.
