Estimator

Duties Include:

• Repair Identification:
  
  • Greet driver and review his/her maintenance reports to identify problems
  • Add or remove details on report as required
  • Physically verify repairs needed at source with driver
  • Negotiate estimated time for completion of work based on shop capacity
  • Defer non-DOT items whenever possible to a later PM date and document in work roster
  • Enter work request into roster (Enrich)
  • Communicate verbally or by email all pending work to Foreman
• Equipment Repair:
• Repair at point of contact if possible i.e. lights, wiper blade, mattresses etc.
• Identify parts required and charge out of inventory
• Using own tools, conduct repairs in tractor shop when time allows
• Advise driver when repairs is completed
• Administration:
• Work with invoices and create P.O’s to bill vendors
• Update new tire supplier items to roster as required; communicate with appropriate departments on status of repair time
• Create work orders as necessary
• Prepare estimates and contact Owner Operators for repair authorizations

Hours:

• Days: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm
  

Qualifications

• 310T License preferred, minimum 3 years as a registered apprentice
• Customer service oriented – helpful, approachable, friendly, team player
• Mechanical aptitude
• Detail oriented
• Problem solver, possess the ability to resolve conflict
• Calm, even-tempered, patient in dealing with people
• Good communication skills – verbal and listening
• Inventive and inquisitive, ability to work with minimal supervision
• Proficient computer skills
• Dependable and reliable
